New Glass Now at The Corning Museum of Glass
The show, which will be on view from May 12, 2019, through January 5, 2020, will include works ranging from large-scale installations and delicate miniatures to video and experiments in glass chemistry, all of which demonstrate the vitality and versatility of this dynamic material.
Irvin Borowsky International Prize in Glass Arts
Sarah Briland has been named the winner of the University of the Arts’ sixth annual Irvin J. Borowsky International Prize in Glass Arts by an international panel of experts. The Borowsky Prize is given each year to an artist whose work is conceptually daring, exemplifies technical skill and innovation, and advances the field of contemporary glass.
Artist-in-Residence at The Studio, The Corning Museum of Glass
In May 2019, Briland will be an Artist-in-Residence at The Studio, during which time she will develop a new body of work that explores the superstitious, mystical, and pseudo-scientific methods humans have used to stave off cataclysm and environmental collapse.
